That is why we became and independent nation. From 1950's to date the respective Europe views of our Community

Most of Sechelles Seychelles history is written by English historians, just as they wrote the history of Ireland or Australia or East Africa that is the way, methodology and discipline they use/apply t write our history and portray us to the world. Until such time other who dare challenge this come forward and rewrite it/attempt to rewrite it.

This so call History is driven, hammered and archived across the world supposedly best historic institutions, and as such managed.

The efforts and approach undertaken by the SPPF/SPUP and PL to rewrite their version of our History demands equally to be challenged and questioned.

It is terribly sad to note that those Seychellois who know of this situation and major problematic, their respective attitude and approach - they prefer that the world and its institution continue to use our Brothers and Sisters who have less justification to complain and challenge this to continue promoting this History and adding their versions/ because a great deal of money and power is involved. .

One of the foremost objective of Europe Ethnic Community workings, management with associated discipline to research and endeavor to readjust and share their knowledge and findings. Part of FECAS- ECSVS work and objective is exactly this.

We are going to add the blazon, heraldic issues/facts about the origin of the name of Sechelles Seychelles

Having stated we played a crucial role that the WWW came into function - beside host of other associated IT development since 1987/8. The way in Mauritius, Reunion, Canada, Quebec, South Africa, the USA, New Zealand let alone France of Britain anybody, groups, communities who can and leed to such important global workings the way and manner they manage and deploy their own respective Community communication, media and social networks - not so the Sechelles Seychelles Community in EU. {Last night we watched the film Bonnie Prince Charles, historic Scotland highly important debacle for good reason - the fat of Sechelles Seychelles the past 36/7 years - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Edward_Stuart}

It takes human resource, finance and time/energy to work and manage such important Community issues. The many years of research, study, debate and counter reactions, fall outs until the issues of the Tyrel Normandian Families relation to our History was finally understood.

Among and certainly without the highly important commitments of one of France leading personality the entity known today as Sechelles Seychelles would not have existed in the form/manner we have come to know. The important need to underline, emphasize this not just to our generation, but the younger generation and the world - the world out there who are given to changing their mind about what history is all about and the history of nations for political and today's military dictum. Global Power Play. Beside Africa new academicians/educated elite who want to write their very own version of History. Institutions like UNESCO who manage giant Financial Budget supposedly to develop and help manage such issues in a civilized way.

We are talking of the person of Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais
The high personality who gave and stamped his name on the main Island of the Sechelles Seychelles Group Mahe, beside important life and work in Ile Maurice - Mauritius, Ile de Bourbon - Reunion Island and India.

Among other high personalities who have left their important imprint and mark on our history, nation, society and future is
César Gabriel de Choiseul-Praslin - the Le duc de Pralsin who gave/where the second largest Island of the Sechelles Seychelles Group acquired/inherited and was named.

Other Nations across the world how they work and manage such important issues and we the Sechelles Seychelles communities in Europe those who wish/want us to live like nerds, imbeciles and subspecies - if and when we dare address these important issues for those in the USA, London/Britain, Australia - NATO, we are labelled as Terrorist and Taliban - these good people and their Institutions ought to go back to their Universities and relearn History/their history an what they have been given, taught and educated as History.

This is why the very major fight, spillover and collateral with the President FA Mitterrand and Lady Thatcher and then Italian PM and the issues leading to the Treaty of Rome and Maastricht - we lobbied those who took plat that we be allowed under EU legislation's that we managed and take care of such high issues and responsibilities not retched Sechelles Seychelles government or its Hon Consul and Ambassadors or other appointed representatives. Just as today or the past 60 years some of the world very big multinationals which have existed, influence and drive world affairs, economy, politic and society to give our young and modern readers/visitors an idea, the IBM or General Motors in USA across the world Then Europe and France Economy, politic and Finance under then King Louis 13th. Without such Corporate venture, thinking and approach again the fate and what would have happened to history and Sechelles Seychelles, Mauritius, Ile de Bourbon - Reunion, Madagascar and Comor - much more beyond in India, Vietnam and China. This the workings experience/corporate working leading them to adventure in the discovery of America, South America, Canada and Quebec.

When one study works the science and discipline of Corporate management form a classical and archaic prospective and refer then to today situation for those student/young graduate interested or researchers. The experimental process in High Corporate, Human/nation development process and we in the Indian Ocean have played very vital role - today's Europe workings, the USA, Russia, Australia, Latin America.
List of multinational corporations
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mu ... rporations

Before adding other important personalities which led, made it possible and took part in the existence and settlement of Sechelles Seychelles believe the need to address the issues of the First Indian or Europe Multinational working. Without which no Kings could exist, powerful Nobilities, the Church - no wars fought , Kingdonm and Empire exist, their vested interests and cross European workings then. Today it is easily accepted and taken for granted - but everybody chose to forget and ignore the pioneers, the scientist one many call them the major human human sacrifices.

In spite the availability of many Libraries, French speaking and their very rich contents - this does not interests many. For instance it is reasonably well documented that at certain time/period of France Colonial history in the Indian Ocean - the nobility were extremely Powerful to cause concern to the Bonaparte Rule. Those Nobilities and royalties who had banded together to force their politic on France - this in history is not to be lightly discarded, the important implication. { Particularly the British Colonial nation their notion of things - with today's generation total lack of knowledge of such important issues. }

Numerous leading European, Latin american, Australian and South African Universities go out of their way and develop specialist study/subject on such issues not Sechelle Seychelles. Those involved in developing our University structure and Academy. Turing them into "modern Day coconuts Heads".

The first Historic Settlement
In 1503, Vasco da Gama, crossing from India to East Africa, sighted islands which became known as the Amirantes. The granitic islands began to appear on Portuguese charts as the Seven Sisters.

In March 1608, a trading fleet of the English East India Company set sail for India. Lost in a storm, the Ascension's crew saw "high land" on 19 January 1609 and headed for it. They anchored "as in a pond". They found an uninhabited island with plentiful fresh water, fish, coconuts, birds, turtles and giant tortoises with which to replenish their stores. The Ascension sailed, and reported what they had found, but the British took no action.

Towards the end of the 17th century, pirates arrived in the Indian Ocean from the Caribbean and made a base in Madagascar, from where they preyed upon vessels approaching and leaving the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf.

The French had occupied the Isle de France (now Mauritius) since 1715. This colony was growing in importance, and in 1735 an energetic administrator, Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais (1699–1723) was appointed. His brief was to protect the French sea route to India. La Bourdonnais, himself a sailor, turned his attention to making a speedier passage from Mauritius to India. To this end, in 1742, he sent an expedition under the command of Lazare Picault to accurately chart the islands northeast of Madagascar.

On 21 November 1742, the Elisabeth and the Charles anchored off Mahé at Anse Boileau (not Baie Lazare, later mistakenly named as Picault's landing place). They found a land of plenty. In fact, Picault named the island Ile d'Abondance. Picault's mapping was poor, so in 1744 he was sent back and renamed the main island Mahé (in honor of his patron Mahé de La Bourdonnais), and the group the Iles de la Bourdonnais. He had high hopes for the Iles de la Bourdonnais. However the islands were once more forgotten when La Bourdonnais was replaced in 1746. {"Extract Wikipedia"} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Seychelles

The outbreak in 1754 of what would become the Seven Years' War between England and France reminded the authorities on Mauritius about the islands. Two ships were sent to claim them, commanded by Corneille Nicholas Morphey. He renamed the largest island Isle de Séchelles in honour of Viscount Jean Moreau de Séchelles, Minister of Finance during the reign of Louis XV (later Anglicised as Seychelles). This name was later used for the island group, whilst Mahé was again used for the largest granitic island. Morphey took possession for the French king and the French East India Company on 1 November 1756.[1]

The end of the Seven Years' War, with France's loss of Canada and its status in India, caused the decline of the French East India Company, which had formerly controlled Mauritius. This settlement, and thus Seychelles, now came under direct royal authority. The new intendant of Mauritius, Pierre Poivre (1719–1786), was determined to break the Dutch monopoly of the lucrative spice trade; he thought Mahé would be perfect for spice cultivation.

In 1768, Nicolas Dufresne arranged a commercial venture, sending ships to collect timber and tortoises from the Seychelles. During this expedition, French sovereignty was extended to cover all the islands of the granitic group on Christmas Day.

In 1769, the navigators Rochon and Grenier proved that a faster route to India could safely be taken via the Seychelles, and thus the importance of the islands' strategic position was realised. Meanwhile, Poivre had finally obtained seedlings of nutmeg and clove, and 10,000 nutmeg seeds. His attempts to propagate them on Mauritius and Bourbon (later named Réunion) met with little success, and he thought again of Seychelles. It was considered fortuitous when Brayer du Barré (unknown-1777) arrived on Mauritius with royal permission to run a settlement on St Anne at his own expense.

On 12 August 1770, 15 white colonists, seven slaves, five Indians and one black woman settled on St Anne. Du Barré stayed in Mauritius seeking funds. After reports of initial success, he begged the government for more money. However, reports reached the authorities that ship captains could get no supplies of fresh produce from the islands. Du Barré's appeals for help to Mauritius and Versailles fell on deaf ears. In desperation, he went to the Seychelles to try and rescue the situation, but to no avail. A ruined man, he left for India and died there shortly afterwards.

In 1771, Poivre sent Antoine Gillot to Seychelles to establish a spice garden. By August 1772, Du Barré's people had abandoned St Anne and moved to Mahé or returned home. Gillot worked on at Anse Royale, establishing nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and pepper plants.

When British ships were seen around Seychelles, the authorities were spurred into action, despatching a garrison under Lieutenant de Romainville. They built Etablissement du Roi (Royal Settlement) on the site of modern Victoria. Gillot was nominally in charge of the civilian colonists, but had no real authority over them. Mauritius sent as replacement a man of stronger mettle, Jean Baptiste Philogene de Malavois, who assumed command of the settlement in 1788. He drew up 30 decrees which protected the timber and tortoises. In future, only sound farming techniques and careful husbanding of resources would be tolerated. {Article extract Wikipedia}

Ste.Anne island is the site of the first French settlement in 1770, a courageous undertaking as the island was surrounded by swamps teeming with crocodiles. (We have tired to find our why the name St Anne - we believe it is to do with one of King of France wife/queen. we need to dig more/research)

n 1770 a party of 28 was sent to the islands and they settled on St Anne island of the 12th August 1770. Du Barré stayed in Mauritius to seek more funds. After reports of initial success, he begged for more money. However reports reached the authorities that ship captains could not get supplies of fresh produce from the islands. Du Barré's appeals for help to Mauritius and Versailles fell on deaf ears. In desperation, he went to the Seychelles to try and rescue the situation, but to no avail. A ruined man, he left for India and died there shortly afterwards.

Beside Sechelles Seychelles archive, Mauritius, Reunion and France Archive on the original Settlers/founding Fathers - very/most interesting the names of those individual, personalities and their ancestral connections in France. What became of them and their children today.

For the ruling part SPPF/SPUP/PL this is taboo they would prefer they did not exist as such they inform the world relevant high Institutions. In those days the French, English, Scots, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian Nobility - yet those who write History.

For those of our Community, Families, entities from the Indian Ocean in France, Britain and across the world they need to refer to events, time and situation in then Europe 1978 - then former Yugoslavia, the COMECON, then USSR, then China - Africa in then Europe, the requirement to be very blunt - the Third world view of Africa and the Indian Ocean by Europe and Europeans. Let alone the Indian Ocean, Sechelle Seychelles, Mauritius, Reunion in particular.

In Austria, Germany Switzerland, Alsace then concept of working Community Associations and Federation of communities.

Having said we had been offered a job/posting in Africa when Sechelles refused to back our application of a job at UNIDO/World Bank those in Vienna who had supported this Application - we weighed those issues too. The African posting meant field work data harvesting and a bite similar to the offer Seychelles government had offered us before supporting our application. Then One party System - we realized the invitation to come and work in Seychelles was a ploy to control, manipulate and distract or even harm our person. This became fairly clear when we followed up the Development with the Research we had undertaken by UNIDO/World Bank. We also had other business interests in Vienna and was not relying on only Seychelles government offer and support. When we realized what they were up to the coin dropped and a very great deal of bad blood developed. {We had a family to consider and my Family relation was very intact then}

Beside pursuing our business/commercial interests - we spent time studying the issues of Community building in Europe, the German speaking concept and the Exiles from Seychelles had began to arrive in Britain, Europe. In France it was never appreciated and less so in Britain - the need to state our learning experience by UNIDO regarding UN workings and the relation with Migrants, Diasporas Communities and what was available on records and documents.

Hence we are going to add a picture of UN Building in Vienna and the Government of Chancellor Dr Bruno Kreisky - in London those who opposed that we developed such concept - little did they know how much we had been educated and briefed/informed/learnt. Trust this will serve to jog the mind and memory of the many concern and interested.

We also had personalities who was encouraging us - the great Uncle of my ex Wife - Dr Dr Beno Ramsauer - he had been long involved in South Tirol politic and other important issues. Their Family had been importantly involved in Czechoslovakia politic too prior to the Communist take over.

We would like to add - those form the Austrian Royal Family connections and the Black party OVP, they knew of our French Connections, Mauritius, their hint of what they knew - we are not 100% certain but should it prove that St Anne the first Settlement of then Ile D'abondance and later Sechelles is importantly related to Anne of Austria - then we are due and serious apology by very many in Vienna. { http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_of_Austria }

There are very many issues to this day we cannot share in public - {We trust hose responsible to manage the legacy of those past high personalities will remember and note why we landed in angers - Loire - "the Red Baron of Vienna". }

Leave the Italians - those Italians who knew what we were up to in Vienna and Europe then their own connections and Sechelles Seychelles

Unlike Sir James Mancham or Mr Alan St Ange with the freedom to write what they have try and do this form Britain - to write a fiction yeas of tell lies and down play everything down grade everything yet you can write a book.

The personality of President F Mitterrand and his Wife Mrs Danielle Mitterrand played in our European and France efforts to put into place a Larger Community working concept for 1978 to their departure. This will require that able hands become available and those able to refer and research the issue adequately. Enough to write a few books.

In France the Pied Noir Communities in 1978 - the rapport we/I striven to build with them those who know, the issues, events and experiences. France Intelligence Service and Fraternal/Masonic entities. In France the manner and system they use to develop Communities structures, laws and legislation.

Now for some of our Taboos - With then Sechelles Weychelles Communist government /One party system and France Socialist government Officials and we trying to set up anything or get a place to stay in exile was not easy - even with all our connections/acquantance.

In Paris, Strassbourg the other larget Cities and Towens we travelled and visited those who immediately know of Mauritius Reunion and Sechelles Seycheles beside madagascar, Comor in the Indian Ocean. Wehn it cam eot talkin gof our Community Issues the immediate reactions - inspite of France Revolutions, the Repub;ics, the First world War and thee Second wlard war - they know of their people, Families and links in the Indian Ocan.

Those Nobilities and Important Connections we strived to build or rebuild.

Then former Valerie Giscard D'staing, then Jacques chirac and his mayoryal Post - again we are not permitted to related some of the more important issues in public and some have lend to manjor national issues in the media and nations.

Those important individuals who supported and lend us their support. They knew we knew of France Noble Families and those of the Indian Ocean.

Having addressed we started the concept back in 1977 and in Vienna given the very many then organisations, institutions took more initiatives. Our insistence of underlining the Cold War in Europe and the rest of the world. The enormous difference of thinking, ideology, human interrelation, intellectual, economic, scientific - the very long list of difference between the East Block and the West.

A second important point how France treated and have treated its expats/pied noir and returning migrants compared to the British Empire/colonial model, approach and way of doing things. The story and history of the Franco Seychellois in exile in Europe since 1978 - their miserable lot. We have tended over the years to compare this to the pied noir saga. In as much that many of the Seychellois did not originate from Mars or Jupiter but France as such they are 5th/6th generation whose ancestors left France, be it for opportunity, political and religious reasons.

Beside our exile/refugee they have been at the core of building a long lasting Europe body for the Seychellois living/workings and establish in Europe - in the form of FECAS-ECSVS. They did not stay at that, they have contributed to vast array of issues of Europe Voluntary workings, Benevolent and social changes issues - how come and this possible with the vast armies of special bodies and we are pleased to not the in France numerous of then talk of accountability in very different context to their British counter part - with a situation the Industry and big economic entities take/rob them of all the credit. In France a more responsible and intelligent approach. Where they have failed badly is in communication, reporting technique/resources and management.

It is not everyday that Ethnic communities get involved in such global debacle as the WWW, the OS Systems, your Search engines be they Yahoo and the Google, one of the two better known social media including Facebook how individuals form a given Ethnic community use and communicate - how in the old fashion reporting of Community Report was done - how do you go about explaining the time consuming efforts of a member of an ethnic community, the contents and approach if not science he or she uses to communicate as par of enhancing and workings, contributing to a respective community. We have also tried very hard to bring many of these issues mentioned to the European many Voluntary or Benevolent Institution and the EU relevant Institutions and the UN.

We will be adding a link to France extended list of benevolent and voluntary Organisations and Institutions - trusting that hose of our community interested will take the initiatives use, study and appreciate it.

To those from LUNGOS Seychelles and In Mauritius the National Umbrella and in Reunion they would be using many of the included Institutions the big differences and disparity - the terrible politic they play with NGO'S, the voluntary and Benevolent sector of the nation. .

Version Francais
