28 scouts invested

27-November-2014
A group of 28 scouts from the fourth Seychelles Scouts Troop were invested in a ceremony held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception last Sunday.
Their investiture comes after they had followed a progressive programme of activities.

The ceremony was to give them their membership badge and scarf, making them officially a scout.

The scarf identifies different troops and is used for various purposes during scouting activities such as for bandage or for identification for example when lost in the forest, just to name some.

The objective of the scout’s association is to promote and develop young people physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually with the aim of making them a better citizen for themselves and for the country.

The ceremony was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception as the majority of the scouts are of Roman Catholic faith. Others of different religious beliefs also attended but with the consent of their parents.
